Ashiatsu means “foot pressure” in Japanese. Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy® is a form of gravity assisted barefoot effleurage where the practitioner's body weight and feet are used to provide a relaxing deep tissue treatment. The Registered Massage Therapist is holding bars secured in the ceiling as they balance their weight over the client to provide slow, fluid, smooth strokes to elongate the muscles along the spine relieving muscular discomfort and chronically shortened muscles. The flowing movements help the body's lymphatic system release toxins and the nervous system to move into parasympathetic mode.
